Our Mission

We publish clear, careful, and useful information for people who live with older dogs. We want every guide to help you make a calmer, better-informed decision.

Who Writes Our Content

Our articles are written by the DogGeriatricGuide Editorial Team. We are not a veterinary practice, and our authors are not licensed veterinarians. We do not claim veterinary credentials, and we do not present our articles as veterinary advice.

How We Research

  • We start from the questions owners of senior dogs actually ask.
  • We check claims against reputable organizations, such as the AVMA, AKC, AAHA, WSAVA, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, and the ASPCA.
  • We link to these organizations so you can read the original sources.
  • When we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out or word it neutrally.

Health Content

Articles about health include a notice that they do not replace a veterinary visit. We explain what signs may mean, what questions to ask, and when to seek help. We never recommend a specific medication dose or treatment plan.

Examples and Experiences

Some articles describe typical situations that many owners report. These are composite examples written to illustrate common experiences. They are not testimonials from one specific person, and we label them in a way that avoids confusion.

Product Recommendations

Our product guides explain what to look for and what to avoid. Currently, we do not use affiliate links on this site. If that changes, we will say so clearly on the page and in this policy.

Advertising

We may display advertising to support the site. Ads never influence what we write, and we do not accept payment to favor a product or brand in our guides.

Images

We use stock photography and, in some cases, AI-generated illustrations. Images are illustrative and do not show real patients or specific cases.

Updates and Corrections

We review our most-read articles regularly and update them when guidance, links, or figures change. If you find an error, contact us through our Contact page. We correct verified mistakes as soon as possible.
